Welcome home HMS Protector

The Royal Navy’s ice-breaker, HMS Protector, arrived back in Plymouth today - coincidentally World Penguin Day - after sailing a whopping 136,608 nautical milessince she departed UK shores back in 2015.

The ship’s CO, Captain Matthew Syrett, said they’d had an “awesome” deployment, promoting and enabling conservation and making sure British interests in Antartica are preserved.
